Turtle of NonM

March 29th, 2009

So, as we swapped springs for our new friend, rog323, we saw something rustling in the grass outside the garage. So, Eiche brought this sad dude into the garage and time attacked him…. Then we added more decals and labels, to add more performance. No critters were harmed during the modding of this turtle.

Stan’s 330 C30 Install

March 29th, 2009

We have Stan’s car finished, with the C30 intercooled kit up and running. As of now it has a base tune on it, super rich, but will be driven down to AA to get the final tune tomorrow.

Just pulled in

Conquered by Bithlo…

March 26th, 2009

So we all made a trip out to the local drag strip yesterday. With lots of prep, I was shooting for 12s at this horrible track, and Julio was aiming for the same. Our friend Chris came out with his e46 M3, as well as my room mate with his supercharged Mustang. We also met our buddy Laffyette at the track as well with his 325ci.

Things wen’t south from there.

On Julio’s first pass he broke a motor mount. On Chris’s first pass he snapped an axle (245/35/19 rears on the M3, go figure?). This put both of them out on their first run. Julio was able to drive home, but Chris had to call a flatbed.

On my first pass I went 13.12 @ 110mph. I proceeded to pull a 13.2, 13.3, 13.4, and 13.5 ALL @ 110mph… failure. My room mate was aiming for 11s, but couldn’t break a 12.6 @ 120mph.

Laffy was the most unfortunate out of us. He was aiming for a low 15, which he got, but on his last pass did the infamous money shift. 3-2 down instead of 3-4 up. He had the car trailered out by some guys that were nice enough to help out there. I’ll be updated with what he ends up doing with it.

The majority of my runs are on video, I just need to rip them off of the cam and upload them.

Performance only comes in one color, right?

Jeremy Smith

March 4th, 2009

To many of us, he was jeremysmith1967, but to me, like many of his friends, he was a brother- a great e46 non-Mer. Jeremy enjoyed anything car related, he was the kind of guy who spent hours polishing the oil pan on his ‘67 Mustang. Needless to say his hellrot 328ci was immaculate- he argued it wasn’t, but his paint still is in better condition than mine, I’m sure. He was always game to lend a hand, and was generally a kind guy. Could always talk about cars for hours. On June 14th, 2008 we lost him to an unfortunate car accident. I know that myself and everyone, from those whom only chatted with him sometimes at Mickey’s, or those of us who always went to his place to hang out- constantly can’t help but regularly think how we’d be interacting with him now, and reminiscing about our times turning wrenches together. His passing rocked the Gainesville BMW tuner community. I miss him deeply and I’m certain that I’m not alone.
KPeng is organizing the drive to Angiefest 09 on April 3rd in Jeremy’s honor.

I am really trying to make this, but I wont know for another 25 days, my class schedule isn’t given until the last day of the month.
