			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So I&#8217;ve been in the DIY tuning game for about 8 or so months now and have learned alot. I read the tuning threads etc. Thought I knew more than I did and went to work modifying my Active stage 1 tune with 30# injectors for my new MAF and 42#. Found out, I didn&#8217;t know as much as I thought I did. I contacted AA and talked to Karl. Karl did me a huge solid and helped me out with a base tune to start with. I went through and made changes and used some information from my old tune to make everything work. Well, I am going to admit there are tunes that float around between people that understand the tuning. I was also sent an active stage 2 chip which was a reference for my base timing map. Well recently I got a hold of a TRM tune. I am not going to name ANY names don&#8217;t ask me. Well I went through it all and noticed interestingly enough my xdf I am using matched up perfectly with the TRM tune. I didn&#8217;t have to change any references to see the mapsaligned right. Well I thought they may have started with a similar base map from somewhere. The other day I went through again and noticed something REALLY interesting&#8230; The part throttle timing maps were almost identical. I can understand close, or relatively, but almost no variance in a 12&#215;16 map is just too much&#8230;</p>

There is a total of 307 bytes changed. Yes, a large majority of the code is will be the same chip to chip, but there isn&#8217;t much changed here.</p>
<p>Alright, the area in the red is the changes that TRM has made. The WOT maps have been changed quite a bit, but the part throttle maps are very similar, down to 1/4 of a degree of timing.<br />

<p>DISCLAIMER* I know those pictures contain some sensitive information about an active tune. Karl has helped me a ton with tuning, and I in no way want to hurt active. I also have not had it out for TRM either, but I don&#8217;t see how I could not say something about this.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My wiseco wrist pins were delayed as they were neglected in shipping. But I called wiseco monday, i have them now and have begun to assemble them. One pin feels stiffer on the rod than the others, that piston will be taken/discussed with Jim before assembly. All the other pistons are assembled on their respective rod with rings. I didn&#8217;t install the rods today as I noticed that the pistons have asymmetrical valve dishes opposite from one another. This is normal, I&#8217;m sure that this is how they were intended to be designed. I originally figured, &#8220;aha, the intake has longer duration, higher lit and a bigger valve, under it, should sit the larger reliefs&#8221;, then 5 seconds later I  realized that the piston approaches the open exhaust valve a lot more than the open intake valve, I don&#8217;t know how open the intake valve will be when the piston is right under it. I don&#8217;t even really think it matters, but i want to do things as they were designed to be assembled. I&#8217;ll call around, see if i can find an answer. Shortly the head should be installed.</p>
<p>here are some comparative pics of the ports on the head, and the assembled pistons and rods.</p>
<p>BTW, eagle rods do have markings identifying the rod to its cap, but it&#8217;s super faint.</p>
<p>thanks to PSI for providing the air conditioned engine building space, to house all my shiz, deal with me and take the pics. If anyone wants to come by the shop, right next to my disassembling engine (from which you see the stock port), there&#8217;s an S85 also being dismantled for a future project, within 20ft from that, there&#8217;s 2 HPF cars (stage 2.5 and 3), a 500+whp AA e36 M, a 500+whp e46 AA M3, and a GPower e60 M5 twin supercharger kit in assembly.</p>
